Ask a Friend to Tell You a Memory
Friends see your memories from a different perspective
If you've gathered all the information that you can get your hands on, why not ask your friends to help?
You can ask your friends for general comments, or ask them about their memories of a specific event.
For many events, you will be surprised with what they come up with. They may even remember something that you were previously unaware of yourself, but which helps you to place some other thing in a perspective that it was formerly missing.
We've been told about a wedding where the groom and best man were covered in sweat during the service, and everyone thought they were just nervous. What they didn't know was, literally just a few minutes before the wedding there was a power cut and the electric organ wouldn't work. They'd spent those vital few minutes helping to push a piano from the church hall and into the church itself.
Similarly, friends can often pick up on habits or manerisms or sayings that you repeatedly use, but about which you are unaware yourself.
Of course, you've got to trust your friends, and they've got to trust you enough to tell you the truth for good or ill, but sometimes the simple thing of asking friends can add some vital insight for your memory book.
